SUN LIGHT IS A GREAT DISINFECTANT
As our Chief Justice said on RTI Act, Sun light is definitely a great disinfectant. Transparency can control corruption but too much of transparency leads to unnecessary monitoring and that in turn leads to leakage in proper implementation of the policies.
In the last six years of implementation, no doubt, the public are largely benefited, but there is a consistent argument from the executive side of the government to have some amendments. The Prime Minister of India too suggested some amendments to Right to Information Act as it becoming obstacle to the honest officers and a tool to the black mailers.
We have this beautiful piece of legislation after 20 years of struggle and the people of the country are not in a position to accept if the government proposes any amendment adverse to the public interest.
